2012 American Center Distance Education Program

The American Center Training Programs is currently accepting applications for a distance education course leading to a certificate in Community-based Development. This opportunity is available to mid-to-higher level Burmese community development officers or managing directors of CBOs or NGOs. We invite you to share the information and application about this programs with any qualified and committed individuals you may know who are active in local civil society initiatives.

Upcoming Course:

Distance Education: Community-based Development certificate: January 6 - June 22, 2012

Course Description:

The certificate program is comprised of four, five week courses. Participants study online for a certificate degree through Colorado State University's International Institute for Sustainable Development.

Each student must complete the required assignments for the following courses:

* Approaches to Community-based Development
* Participatory Monitoring & Evaluation
* Two elective courses of the student's choice

We hope that you take the opportunity share this information with any individuals you feel may most benefit from and directly apply the skills and knowledge gained in these courses. In addition, if you know other organizations or individuals who may also be interested in these courses, please share this information with them.

The application deadline is November 11.
